She has a tendency to say random things at times to make others laugh or to try and lighten the mood in a heavy situation, for she is very pacifistic
Make her angry however, and Raine personality changes very quickly. She knows how to hurt people beyond many conception of pain with her seal magic, and even though she cannot bring herself to kill someone, Rain knows how to make someone wish they were.
Character Background Raine never knew her birth parents other then what little the sisters of the temple she was raised in could tell her. Her mother had wondered into the temple on a very calm clear night just hours before giving birth to her, suffering through a horrible labor to bring her into this world only to give her first name before passing on to the next life. The temple Priestess took her in as one of their own, raising Raine to be a faithful Priestess herself worshiping the Pagan Gods of the time. She flourished under their pacifistic teachings, growing to understand the ways of nature, but still remaining a child as she running wild through the grounds of the Temple within the large city hidden in the mountains of present day China. However, when she was only in her six year, a horrible plague stuck the city it was during this time her ‘powers’ first started to appear. Starting with the event in which just by laying her hands upon the human ruler of the city to give him his honorably prays to his passing before his death she was able to heal him of the sickness.
From here, Raine’s life rapidly changed within the temple, to the city and the Priestess she was seen as a god sent from their pagan gods. She was honored, and seen highly of by grateful citizens that before she was fifteen Raine see by the city as the head Priestess. Content with her life ‘healing’ the souls of those who came to pray at the temple, life was as it should be for someone who was ‘god sent’ but as the life of all humans’ are always shadowed in war and violence, the mountain city in which she resident in for the beginning of her life fell under siege. Four horrible days and nights, the mountain city fell to a new, cruel ruler. As to pay respects to their new conqueor the temple Priestess went to pay their respects to the new ruler that was demanded by the man. However once he set eyes upon the prized High Priestess, disregarding words of his conquered citizens, the man took Raine as on of his many wives before leaving the city to his generals.
Life as a wive to this man was nothing but pretty for Raine. Hated, and loathed by many of the other women taken by this man saw her beauty as a challenge upon themselves. For once she had reached the age of twenty she seemed to just stop aging. As her husband, Salvitor, was just as horrible to his wives as he was to his citizens. More so to the point as he enjoyed petting his many wives against each other, mostly it was the First wife how took pleasure in hurting and torturing the young ex-priestess. Though it became more prevent as a few decades seemed to pass by and while everyone else aged, time was frozen for Raine. As the first wife began to lose favor with the tyrant Salvitor to her ‘unfading’ beauty, Raine found things coming down upon her. If something was wrong it was always her that got punished by the First wife even it it was something Raine couldn’t have any part in. It was during this time she took to hiding away from others.
Also about the time she met a man who could change into a wolf at his own will. Her first of many encounters of the ‘people of the night’, things of fairy tales and myths. The shape shifter was the first to tell her she didn’t belong in the ‘world’ of humans because she wasn’t one of them. It was during these secret meetings she took to having with him that Raine came to learn about the hidden part of herself she never understood. The healing ability she still possessed, moments of ‘premonitions’, her unchanging age after thirty years, Raine found was because she was a creature called a Dragoon. The shifter, Vanitoh, even taught her how to summon out her wings that she never knew she had. Flying gave Raine the taste of freedom she never thought she could have since she was always confined with walls of some kind wither the Temple she longingly missed or the walls of her tyrant husband. And for the first time she found herself falling in love. Wanting to help free Raine of her imprisonment and mistreatment, Vanitoh help her come up with a plan to escape but things fell throw when someone she trusted dearly leak the information to her husband’s first wife. Laying a trap for them both, Vanitoh and she were caught by the guards, him half way through shifting into his human form, her with her dragon wings sprung out from her back.
Demons, devils, evil spirits, confined and tortured within prison cells for how long Raine can never remember. Beaten repeatedly, called a witch for hexing her faithful ‘ruler’ into taking her as his wife, for never aging as it were. Raine can never remember more then just the pain she suffered as she was whipped again and again across her back in ordered to force out her wings again. Which when once out, were shredded and torn mercilessly. Then next and last time she saw her shapeshifter lover was when they stood out before the city population for their public execution before the eyes of all as the city was ‘cleansed’ of its demon infection. As she watched Vanitoh die, the only thing Rain could remember was screaming out in agony and then everything going blank only for her to find herself in the mountains that hung over the city, looking down at the burning castle that had confined her life for the last thirty years hearing screams and out cries of the people as the fires spread out into the city. Her broken tattered wings spread out on her sides catching the faint warm updraft even though she could no longer fly. In her hand the head of her ‘late’ husband’.
For the coming centuries, Raine would wonder throughout China, Russia, India and even Japan search for others of her kind. Also spending time to learn about the other ‘night creatures’ such as herself in more of an attempt to understand what she was. But as she wandered, it become more evident like many other species, her own kind was slowly dying out and those who survived were hidden among the mass populous of humans never knowing what they really were. Always moving and never staying in one place for too long, for Raine knew she aged differently than others, she witnessed the horrors of Lycan and Shape shifters put against each other, wars, and things that could only be called as holocausts as humans have tried to purge out the taint of the ‘demons’.
Wanting to bridge the gap between the day and night worlds, Raine in currant time has found herself coming to Alculard’s Paradise Academy. Teaching Sciences to the night time classes, and also taking up the extracurricular class of “Magic Arts” to help teach students more about themselves and other types of night creatures, Raine hopes to clear the bad blood between future generations.
