Dreams/Life Goals: None, he just wants to live his life the way he wants too. But deep down he wants to find someway to make up what he did to Niall five years ago.

Appearance
Hair: A perfect match to his personality, his chin length locks are a vivacious red in color.
Eyes: A mossy forest green. He's blind in his right eye (due to an accident in his boyhood) so he wears a black eyepatch over it.
Height: 6’3
Build: Lean, has more muscle than he appears to possess as is common with most werewolves of his kind.



Character Personality
He most prominent personality trait is his flirtatious nature. One of his younger cousins went as far to say “He’ll flirt with anything that moves, if he thinks he’ll get some.” But if you asked Irial he’d say that he only flirts with the pretty people. For that reason he could be described as shallow, often taking things at face value only.

Spoiled is another good term for Irial. Growing up in a well off family he is used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and acts very childish when he doesn’t. Irial is also a competitive cheater, and will stop at nothing to win even the simplest of games.

He isn’t likely to lend a helping hand either. In fact the only time he would do something for others is if he had something to gain from it. But he isn’t all bad, most of the time he’s in a wonderfully whimsical mood, and though he might have a short fuse he doesn’t stay mad for long. Usually after one of his little fits he acts as if nothing happened and goes about his business.

Character Background
The DeRosier family are mostly known for two things, their money, and the fact that the main house of the family consists of nothing but werewolves. There are two branches to the family, one being obviously being the main house and then a second branch. The second branch consists of the human side of the family, mostly second born children who were not infected with the Lycanthropy gene.

The main branch is what Irial belongs too, both of his parents are werewolves as are his grandparents, but his younger siblings are not. That’s because only the first born child is given the ‘honor’ of being infected.

Since he is the first born, Irial was openly favored by his parents and other main branch family members. And as such he got whatever his little heart desired, something that was common among the first born children. But even more so for him, for his grandfather was head or alpha of the family, so in due time Irial would one day take his place as head of the DeRosier family. But that was a long way off, or so he thought.

When Irial was 13 his father died of silver exposure, and with him out of the way Irial was suddenly next in line to succeed his grandfather. This event thrust a whole new set of obligations upon Irial, which he most certainly did not want. Suddenly he was expected to act like an adult and not the spoiled brat he’d been for his entire life. Eventually the stress of it all became too much for him and he snapped.

Reverting to his lupine form Irial ran away from his family home in a fit of rage. His anger clouded his mind eclipsing his human side. It was during this time that Irial did something that werewolves of his kind were expressly forbidden to do. He attacked a human, two human boys to be exact.

Niall and Gabriel were their names, both 9 years of age. Gabriel died instantly during the vicious attack, but miraculously Niall survived. But at a price. Irial passed on the lycanthropy gene to him. This is probably the only even in his life that Irial would say he regrets. And it was his guilt that sent him back home, with Niall in tow.

His family was horrified to say the least when they learned that he had infected someone, someone who was not DeRosier first born, and normally a person infected in that way would be disposed of immediately to protect the family, but with Irial was able to persuade them to let Niall live in exchange for him buckling down and accepting his duties. It was an offer the family could not resist.

To ensure that Irial keeps his promise the family sent him and Niall (after Irial threw a fit to have him come along) to Alculard to ensure that he receives a fine education while making sure he stays out of trouble.

Irial’s family does not know about Gabriel, it’s a secret that only he and Niall know about. And he swore Niall to secrecy using some not so nice methods of intimidation.

I’m hoping that someone will offer to role-play Niall for me, his entire history is up to you to decide as long as you include Gabriel and him being attacked at the age of 9 and make him around 14 or 15 years old. If you need help with it, I’ve got a few ideas in mind. ^-^

Below is a nice explanation about what type of werewolf Irial and Niall are. As in my mind there are many different strains of Lycanthropy. Its based off different werewolves I’ve read about, and I just combined the parts I liked best.

First off a person cannot be born a Werewolf. If one or even both parents are infected they will not pass it on to their children. The only way to be changed is by either being bitten or scratched by a Werewolf when they are in Wolf form. That is the only time the Lycanthropy gene can be transferred.

When a person is infected they go into a sort of hibernation period, for any number of days depending on the size of the person changed. They are very weak and tired during this time because their metabolism is all out of whack, and their body is preparing its self for the next full moon. They are unable to change into Wolf form until their first full moon.

After their first change, they gain the ability to change anytime they wish, but they still must change at the full moon. Experienced Wolves can learn how to partially change, and for example only grown longer canines, and/or claw like fingers. This takes lots of practice though.

Werewolves are advised not to change too much however, for they risk completely loosing touch with their human side. When this happens they completely loose sense of right and wrong. They are reduced to the same primal urges as other animal predators.

Also when person is bitten, they gain a sort of split personality. That is they have two sides, their human side, and the Wolf side. For newer Werewolves it is difficult to resist and withstand the Wolf side. But as time goes on a sort of harmony can be achieved between the two. Though there is always the risk of loosing control.

After a person has been infected they gain a heightened sense of smell, sight, taste, as well as a whole new set of natural instincts. Though the senses are at their best when the person is in Wolf form. The size of the Wolf depends on the size of the human. For instance a two hundred pound man would become a two hundred pound Werewolf. Their mass stays the same when they change.

When a person does change they act on pure instinct, and it is almost as if their human side does not exist. They are a Wolf in every sense. At dawn they revert back to their human form and sleep for any number of hours. When they wake up they remember almost nothing of what they’ve done, maybe only smells or sounds at the most.

It is not required for a Werewolf to have a pack, but when they are in a pack it helps to make sure they don’t prey on humans. Also when they wake up after the change, it is much less traumatic when they are surround by others rather then all alone. Pack hierarchy is much the same as a normal Wolf pack. There is an alpha male, and an alpha female as well as second in commands. The higher up you are the more power you have, and also when your pack makes a kill you are entitled to more of the food. There are only two ways to rise up in status, either a Wolf ahead of you dies, or you challenge and kill a Wolf and take their place.

As for the change itself, it is very painful. Bones must be reshaped and arranged, cells must shift and change. Muscles, cartilage, and skin, all it has to be changed. However the Werewolf’s body releases a special toxin that helps to sooth and relax the body making the change bearable. A Werewolf never really remembers just how bad the change is, for if they did they would dread and never want to change again.

This type of Werewolf has the ability to recognize one of it’s own regardless of what form they are in. They aren’t likely to socialize with Wolves outside their pack unless their territory is being threatened. This being said it is rare for Wolves to go without a pack, as having a pack generally makes the emotional and physical stress less harmful to a Werewolf.

When it comes to Vampires, this type of Werewolf tends to avoid them. As their blood has often been considered a delicacy among the Vampires. They only harbor the natural instinct to stay away from Vampires, and do not feel the need to fight them unless they feel threatened.

There are few ways to kill this type of Werewolf, one being ripping out their throat, or simply ripping their body to shred. But that really only works if you’re a Vampire or a Werewolf yourself. The only way for humans to kill them is with silver. Be it silver knives or silver bullets, silver is highly lethal for them. But only if it enters the blood stream. It is fine for them to touch it, but most tend to avoid it out of precaution. Crosses don’t work against them, so there’s no use trying that.

Very, very few Werewolves change outside of a forest. They do this for a number of reasons, one being that there’s less chance of them hurting or killing another human. Also they feel a compulsion to be there, their Wolf instincts tell them that is were they should be. It feels natural to them.
