She joins many online forums to meet with other people and speak of issues that help her, including the things she does to help herself cope with things.
She joined the school’s kendo club because it reminded her of her mothers martial arts teaching back home. It gave her something to enjoy doing. Latise is known to walk up to someone she doesn’t know and ask if they are ok when she see’s they are in a bad mood or upset. She’s also known to sit down and talk with him or just listen so they can get things off their chest. She’s not judgmental at all because she knows how it is to be someone different from everyone else.
Character Background
Latise was born to her parents. Each parent wanted a different gender, and when it came down to it, Latise became a girl. She was born with both sex organs and her parents didn’t want anyone to decided what gender Latise should be. They wanted her to choose on her own and they would accept her either way. They loved this idea, it was like they had the best of both words. To approach the situation they began buying toys and items for both genders, allowing her to choose the ones she wanted. Latise was quick to grab the boy toys and play with them. But when it came to the cloths she chose the girlish ones.
Almost everyone knew that she had both sex organs. It caused attention at school when the teachers and administrators forced her to use the bathroom in the males bathroom. Mainly for the fact that her male organ was the one she used to release her urine. She did a good job of sneaking into the bathroom and go into the stalls so no one could see her. She sometimes even dressed more on the side of a male just because she was forced to use the bathroom there. It humiliated her because she didn’t want to be in that environment.
When she was in middle school a boy caught her using the bathroom and decided to tell all of his guy friends. Calling her a freak and all sorts of names. She was instructed to not approach the boys or go near them. Her mother had been teaching her martial arts as a self defense, and one day she got fed up of the boys messing with her. She hit the main guy and before he could attack her back the teacher broke up their fighting. She didn’t really have friends, so she always walked home by herself. The boys decided to follow and chase her into a alley where they started attacking her.
Out of no where a boy came to stop them, it surprised her because no one really stood up for her. While the attention was on this boy, whom she’d soon come to know as Deus, she ran away to hide. She watched as the boys beat him up so bad to the point where he could no longer move. After they cleared the area and left, she came out of her hiding place to help him. Getting police and an ambulance came to take him away. She got made fun of because of what her body had, the color of her hair, eyes, and the decision her parents couldn’t make.
The boy was in the hospital for three months and every day she came to visit him. No once did she ever say a word to him, she just knew his name and that he went to the same school as her. He also lived in the same neighborhood as her and their parents worked together. When Deus got out of the hospital, she started following him around at a distance. It took her a couple of months to actually approach him and thank him in person. She thought he would be mad at her since the reason he got beat was her fault, but she was surprised to find out he wasn’t made at all. He just gave her a smile and she became friends with him.
Her mother got notice of a school in Japan, and her family figured it would be better for her to have a different start. Kids were still humiliating and making fun of her at school. It was making her depressed and she even tried to commit suicide. She was stopped by Deus who found out she was going to. After getting a speech from him, she knew she wouldn’t ever try it again. Latise didn’t want to leave her family behind, but her Japanese family lived near the school and would help her out. She wanted to be known as a girl, so when signing up for the school she stated she was a girl.
Latise was delighted to know that when she made the choice of moving to attend Alculard, that Deus would be soon following her. She was like his shadow, always following him around. And now she could do it again.
