Counselor's Office - Science Department [open during office hours]

It felt like it had been a very long time since she had been here, even though in reality in had been just a little under two months. The soft smile on her face as she walked through campus, still a bit early yet for the day students to be up and about. But this place would be lively again soon, morning classes would start, but first young students would need to stop by the cafeteria for their breakfast. Nutrition was very important thing in growing bodies and skipping the first meal of the day would only serve to hinder the learning mind. The chilled morning breeze nipped at her exposed arms a bit but her shoulders were covered by the small sleeves of her pale blue dress. Sometimes she wish she had the confidence to wear some of these sleeveless little numbers or the thin strapped ones she had seen students in, but unfortunately the scars on her back made her a bit self-conscious at times. Walking into the teacher’s administrating building she headed up the stairs to the science department office. Hopeful she wouldn’t have been keeping Akira-san waiting on her. The tall dark haired man was always early for everything.

Long hazelnut hair swag this way and that as she walked up the stairs in her lazy braid. She would have to do a better job of it later, but once she was done running her little errands this morning it would be back to her little apartment for a short nap before having to teach her classes again. Jumping right on back into things. No need to making poor Akira-san teach her classes for her much longer. Raine was sure the young man must be tired out from the last six weeks. Green eyes scanned hall finding it a bit on the empty side. Everyone must not be up yet thing, she signed to herself, it this was the case the day sciences teacher could have just told her a bit later in the morning. She hope she wasn’t cutting too much into his sleep.

“ Heh…Taht ot timda reve lliw nas-arikA tduob I….” The young Dragoon laughed to herself in a language very few knew. Or rather she doubted any one really knew, for it was a language she had taken years of her life to find and understand herself. Shaking her head clear, Raine opened the door to the science office, to find it about the same it was when she had to leave. The strange illness had kept her from getting a lot of her work done, harder to force herself through classes. Had it not been for the Alculard’s telling her to take a short sick leave break until she was feeling better, things might have just gotten worse. Though as dark green eyes scanned the room a half laugh left her lips.

First it as about the piles of more papers and folders on her desk while Akira’s was clean and empty of everything. Meaning the man probable never got the chance to sort though the ones she was unable to do let alone the ones he gained over the last six weeks. Second, was beings the dark haired teacher was no were in sight. For the first time of arriving here at the Alculard Academy, Raine had actually beat Akira somewhere. A hand ran though her bangs as she walked into the room closer to her desk to examine the papers, finding that they all seemed to have been graded.

“Neht tiaw a elihw tros ll’I sseug…” Raine giggled a bit to herself as she shook her head. This wasn’t something she was going to let the younger man live down for a while.

He arrived slightly out of breath as he opened the door. Just as he knew she would be, Raine was sitting at her desk, sorting through the papers he had graded, but had never gotten around to giving back to the students.

“I am SO sorry, Rai-chan. I completely forgot you were coming today and didn’t hear my alarm go off.” It was close enough to the truth that the sting of guilt that usually came when he lied was absent. He bowed to her slightly as he closed the door, giving them some privacy in case other teachers decided to be up and about this early in the morning.

“I see you’re feeling better…” He smiled as he walked over to her to give her a light hug in greeting. He couldn't properly expressed how much he had missed her calming presence.

“ Hehe, it’s good to see you as well, Akira-kun” The older brunette smiled light as she stood up when the taller man walked over to hug her. It was a very long six weeks out in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of China. Back to her roots for a the time she sudden fell very very ill. A strange thing to have happen to her. Such a long like she had already lived and the young Dragoon could rarely remember ever getting sick let alone so back she couldn’t even get herself out of bed. She patted his back under his shoulders a bit before he let her go.

“ It’s alright, I didn’t give you much warning about this yesterday our conversation of the phone was rather short before I got on the plane back here..” She waved her hand in front of her face a bit. It wasn’t as if there wasn’t anything really important to discuss. All she really needed was to find out where the classes were. Until after finals they would stay the same as Akira had them then they would change back to her normal schedule. It was rather hard for her to put the school in such an imposition having to leave so suddenly, leaving the young dark haired teacher to take her place for a short time.

More she felt bad about leaving Akira to her rowdy night students. She knew keeping some of the Lycan’s and shape shifters in check was a bit of a trouble at times. Since the two races still had bad blood between them.

“Did you get some sleep? I know you taught both set yesterday. Sorry I couldn’t get a flight back sooner.”

“I’ve been ok. But saying that I'm glad you are back would be an understatelemt. ” Akira chuckled as he pulled back slightly. He was so happy to not have to deal with 48 hour shifts anymore. He loved teaching, and loved to interact with the night students, but running 48 hours with no sleep was a lot tougher then Akira liked to admit.

“Your students were very understanding, and I know they will happy to know that you’re back, Rai-chan. They were, for the most part, well behaved as well. I just feel bad for forcing their schedules to change for six weeks….” There had been a few instances where the Lycans had gotten out of hand, but it was nothing that Akira couldn’t handle. HE had been here long enough to know how to deal with them.

The light laugh left her lips as she pulled back from him a bit, arms still resting on his shoulders as he told her about her students not being too much trouble for him. Something to easy her mind a bit, better than it had been over the last few weeks sitting alone out in the middle of a fallen temple, being consumed by the wild nature returning stone to earth once more. My, how things change over the progression of time, soon the first place she knew has home would be nothing more the time worn stone unrecognizable anymore. As will everything else she would come to know and see. The light smile didn’t fall from her face though as such thoughts came to mind. No there was no point in being sorrowful over such things anymore. Centuries was enough to come terms with it. So instead of focusing on what will be her mind would stay on what currently is.

And that at the moment, was making fun of the young dark haired man before. Her smile took a little coy turn as she pulled close to him, making a slight ‘sniff’ sound. Even if her senses weren’t as good as some other creatures of the night she could still smell this.

“Umm, a lovely tinge of Sakura…” Tilted her head up to pull his head down a bit, “ a faint lingering of jasmine…And a exquisite set of teeth marks…” She pulled on the corner of his collar a bit to reveal more of the markings she caught a glimce of them when he stood back up.

“ I guess I don’t have ask if you know how Kailyn-kun is doing then, Akira-chan?” The little laugh passed through her lips again.

AA, the young.

"I guess I don’t have ask if you know how Kailyn-kun is doing then, Akira-chan?”

Akira’s smile instantly fell. Shit……he had thought that if he took a shower that the scent wouldn’t cling to him, but he supposed it did. Not to mention that he thought the shirt would do well enough to cover the marks that he was just now beginning to feel. Gods he had never been so grateful to teach the day classes. Teaching night would have been a nightmare. It was then that he felt a twinge of guilt for Kailyn. Granted, Akira didn’t have a scent………… unless you counted his human one………fuck…He hoped that for Kailyn, it wore off before class. That was something he hadn’t even thought about until just now. And Raine’s emerald eyes were still watching him…..with that little smirk on her face.
A blush dusted across his cheeks from getting caught. And here he thought he had everything covered. But he had not counted on Raine’s sharp nose.

And what was one supposed to say to that? ‘Oh yeah, he’s doing well …’ didn’t really seem to fit.

“And here I thought I was doing so well…” He chuckled despite himself, as he released her gently. “I’m sorry about the mess………” He pointed to the stacks on her desk. “I know you like things a certain way and I wasn’t sure, so I just stacked them by classes. I hope that is alright…”

“ It’s alright Akira-chan, this place is surprisingly more clean then I thought you would leave it.” Raine giggled at his attempt to turn her attention away from the teeth marks on his shoulder to the pile of papers she had been going though. He had done more than the brunette would have thought, on such a short notice it was hard for Raine to believe he couldn’t have gotten all theses papers graded like this. But will, it was Akira, not the type of man to let anyone down. Patting his arm the brunette set back down at the desk and went back to shorting through the papers.

But first things first.

Back to teasing.

“ You two must have had some sort of fun this morning.” The innocent smirk setting on her face as she continued looking over the papers as if what she was saying was no out of the ordinary. It fact all the noise was what had woke her up this morning, but then again it came from being Kailyn-chan’s upstarts neighbor. “ Kailyn-chan has quite the exquisite voice doesn’t he?”

“Come on, Rai…..did you honestly think I would leave all this work for you to do once you got back from being as sick as you were?” Akira asked as he sat down at his desk, hoping that she would be distracted enough to leave the previous subject lie. The 200 some odd papers had taken him days to grade……days of sleepless nights of doing nothing but grading, and making sure that he didn’t mix the classes up. Neat and orderly, that was him. Some people thought it boarded on a disorder, but it got the job done and that’s all that mattered.

”Kailyn-chan has quite the exquisite voice doesn’t he?”

Well, there went that idea. His face, which he had just managed to color back to normal, flushed crimson once more and even if he knew she had already noticed, his face fell into his hands anyway.

“You are never going to let me live this down are you?” He mumbled, not needing to look to know that she had the innocent smirk on her face. If she was this bad after only knowing him for the better part of two years, he didn’t want to know what she was planning for Kailyn.

“Teehee, if I did that then there would be no fun for me.. After all his Howling did wake me up..” Raine stuck her tongue out at the dark haired man as he sat behind the desk glaring at her. So much fun, who know teasing Akira in the same matter she did Kailyn all the time it would be just as fun. Setting the papers down on the desk she stood up and walked over to him. Leaning over against the hard wood on the desk top she tipped her finger lightly tapping his nose. He looked so adorably blushing like little school girl hand catch in a ‘cookie jar’ of sorts. Her downstairs neighbor always did have that way of waking her up random times of the week.

“ Don’t look like that Aki-kun, Kai-chan will get it a lot worse later then this. Besides I’m sure I’ll get you both good…” She crossed her arms over her chest as she walked around the desk a bit that was between them to come to the other side of him. Leaning her back against it she looked down at the dark haired teacher slightly smile on her face. “ I have many plans to make him turn a brighter pink then his hair is. Though Aki-kun you can always make up for waking me up this morning by.. Hum.. I don’t know a surprise welcome back party at the club tonight. Pay for all my drinks? OO but you already planned that. O you are just too sweet Aki-kun!” A sly smile crossed her face as she kiddingly pushes on his shoulder a bit.

Akira only groaned when he heard Raine’s plans to tease Kailyn more severely. Gods what had he gotten himself into? Kailyn was probably going to beat him senseless in revenge for “spilling the beans” as it were, even if he had done so unintentionally. It really didn’t matter…..he hadn’t known that Raine lived directly above Kailyn. They were sooo going to his apartment next time.

Akira froze as the thought passed through his head without really thinking about it. Wait…….Next time? Since when has that thought ever crossed his mind? He never slept with the same person more than once. And yet some part of him still longed to return to the apartment and return to the blazing heat he had felt what seemed like only moments before. HE had never felt pulled to anyone after sleeping with them. Whomever he chose usually just was enough to satisfy him once, because he knew that he would get bored if he went for a second round. That and sex was just that…..sex. No strings attached, that’s all she wrote. But…….it was strange. He couldn’t deny the urge or the excitement at the thought of being with the pink haired teacher again. It was strange……very strange indeed.

“-OO but you already planned that. O you are just too sweet Aki-kun!”

“Of course we’ve already planned on…..wait a minute!” Akira’s automatic response was brought to a screeching halt when his brain finally registered the rest of her words. “I am not paying for all of your drinks! First round yes, maybe the second round if you behave yourself, but the rest is up to you.” He had seen first hand how much alcohol it took just to get Raine to the tipsy stage, let alone a full on drunken state. That was a bill that Akira technically had if he access to dip into the money his parents left him, but Akira had promised himself to never use those funds unless it was in the case of an absolute emergency. Not that he could at the moment anyway, he wouldnt be able to for another three years. Glancing at Raine as if she was crazy he shook his head slowly. Paying for all of her drinks….now that was a good one…

“ A, Akira-kun you never are any fun..” She grinned wittily at him as she stuck her tongue out before pushing herself off his desk and walking back over to hers. Papers were sorted already by class and grade. All she would have to do is sit down and put in grades. That she had time for later in the day, after all it was finals time. Akira had been teaching her classes, so his schedule would stay in effect until the start of the next semester. So she had plenty of time to do them in this evening. Do papers, convence Kailyn out of same later classes, calling for study hall or something. Go out to the karaoke bar or something. Go have fun, socialize. Do something that didn’t involve her being alone in silence. She had enough of that over the last six weeks. Taping her finger on the desk Raine looked over at the time on the clock.

It was almost eight now. Akira’s first round of classes would be starting.

She still had somewhere else yet to go. After all with finals came physical exams, she owned Doctor Llyod an apology for leaving him and Kailyn on their own these past few weeks. Her abilities were rather helpful for sick students, and by far cost less than doing some of those tests. Smiling she looked over at the dark haired teacher again.

“ Alright, then I will just have to trick Kailyn into the rest eh? ” Raine winked at him. “ I’ll see you after your classes are out. Don’t forget to come see me later at the clinic, I’ll slid you in unless that is you would rather see Kailyn-chan? Those rooms are sound proof after all. ” Smiling with another wink at some suggestive thought she knew might have just crossed his mind. Turning she headed out of the office shutting the door slightly behind her as she walked out of the teacher’s building heading her way across campus on foot. Walking always was better, healthier way to get around.

Akira sighed as he watched the ‘young’ woman leave. A single moment of indulgence seemed to have more consequences then he had thought. Glancing at the small clock on his desk, he was tempted to warn Kailyn about the trouble that was headed his way. But the man was most likely sleeping at this point, and since he had to wake up early for……………

His eyes widened as his brain finally heard the last part of Raine’s sentence. Physical exams. And every student with a half decent nose would realize that Kailyn smelled different.

“Fuck me….” The words left his lips in a half whisper, half groan as his head fell into his hands. He sure as well picked a fine time to toss away the self control that he prided himself in. For the better part of two years he had been able to resist the man whom he worked with on quite a few occasions. Telling himself that he would allow Kailyn to make the first move. Even if Kailyn had started it, it had been him that had actually made the first move. Something that he swore he would never do.

He was going to get into SO much trouble when he saw Kailyn again. Gods he didn't want to think about what Kai would go through with Raine as well as the students who actually noticed the different scent. But Raine was a given.....and nothing that he had control over. Those two had known each other gods knew how long before he had arrived at Alculard. If he thought his little teasing session was bad, he didn’t want to know what Raine had in store for her 'older brother'.

But he would cross that bridge when he came to it. Right at the moment, he needed to focus on reviewing the first eight chapters of the book from which he taught. Shaking his head, he gathered the things he would need for his college biology I class and made his way out of the office, locking the door just incase before heading to the science wing.
